Hello!
My name is Helen Mason and I am in my sixth year at Paradise Schools. I am very excited to be here and to work with the wonderful students at PEC.
Before coming to Paradise, I was working for more than 15 years are a freelance writer and spent nearly as many years working in "Corporate America" in a classroom setting. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and sociology, a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction, and am just about half-way through my Master of Social Work degree. Needless to say, I appreciate the value of a good education and I enjoy watching students make the connections between their lives and the big ideas that connect us all.
I moved to Surprise seven years ago from Richmond, Virginia which I consider my home in the United States. While I no longer have an accent, I was born and raised in Birmingham, England which I consider my other home. I have two children (Jack and Emma) and a dog (Sherlock). I have lived and traveled all over the country and the world and I try to use these experiences to enrich my classroom whenever possible.
